I
had time to blog, but I was engrossed in my books. Quite a bad time for book-reading too, what with school schedules getting tighter and all. Ugh. I sound like a busy adult. I
want to be busy, but I don't want to be an adult and face the hard changes in life and act all superior and - uh. I'm starting to
sound like one too! I know that keeping busy and maturing is a good thing, but we don't all appreciate what's for the best, do we?
I got a load of books today. If they hadn't been so thick it would be easier to carry them and the load would look less.
For my Home2Teach Narrative Writing class, I am to interview an adult about a specific topic. I chose to interview JC, but I am in doubt about it since she's quite busy. Who else am I to consult? H's friend K's mum is also too busy, and I don't want to interview Ummi because she is family. I am left in a desperate situation.
Speech Therapy starts next Thursday, September 5th. I wonder what I'll do there.
My favorite thing to do in Hazens Homeschool (that's what we call our school) currently Wordly Wise. IT doesn't require much thinking, and I
want to build up on my vocabulary. For I do admire wordly talk.
Interior Design class begins this Wednesday. Our textbooks should arrive soon.
So. Let's have a brief overview of the past days.
FRIDAY
NC did come, and we did bake, and NC did not help (jus' kid'n. well actually i'm not kid'n). NC gave me long dangly pink and brown earrings from JL, and to S she gave a purple watch.
While waiting for the cookies to bake, S and NC watched things while I read Dark River on my beautifully made bed. Then the cookies were done, and -
oh I'm still telling stories like a seven year old - S handed a cookie to NC. Chomping, NC said, "This is good. Mmm." (like one of those dramatic cooks on food shows) "You said the dough looked disgusting, and you say the cookie is good?" I said. She ignored me and kept munchin', oh ever so very sumptuously, until the cookie vanished down her throat.
We watched creepy mermaid things on Lost Tapes until it was dinnertime. NC wanted to take us to Chuck E. Cheese. S ran up and down the stairs multiple times, while NC talked to her mom, JC, on
the her phone. After everything was arranged, it turned out we were going. So we quickly got ready and then JC arrived. After about a half an hour's length of chatter between JC and Ummi, we left the house.
JC tried our cookies and she tried to compliment us through her chewing. NC said she did everything, which obviously was not true.
We arrived at Chuck E. Cheese, and after JC paid for the tokens and stuffles, we partied. I ignored all the mindless people who stared at me and had fun.
NC's older brother B watched us play, and while NC was in a racecar game with S, he said, "You're horrible, NC. S is beating you."
Then we ate some pizza and drank some drinks for a few heartbeats (sorry for the Warriors language here x3) and then we used our last token to get a picture of all three of us. It was ridiculous. NC's mom and dad laughed.
Maghrib time fell in, and JC, NC, S, and I exited Chuck E. Cheese to find a place to pray, possibly somewhere around the mall. There was a police car outside the mall entrance. We prayed in a slanted line in front of the former museum of natural history. Then we retreated to CEC to grab our stuff so we could go to the masjid.
DC, NC's dad, said, "Thank you for the cookies, ladies." We arrived at the masjid.
My friend Mar came with her mom and her sister Ra. "Hey! I thought you wouldn't come!" I told Mar, jostling her violently. "I thought you wouldn't come either!" she said.
Me, Mar, S, Ra, and Sr Mn had a little group talk in a corner of the masjid. Since me and Mar were considered 'young', we weren't included in the conversation (even though Ra and Sr Mn are my age. Mar is only twelve, three years younger than me).
After everything, we went shopping, and NC gave us that ridiculous picture to keep. The endy Wendies.
SATURDAY
I was planning to use this day to catch up on some missed work. Didn't work out; apparently there was a picnic at the Young Park for Eid.
I wanted to go to the Farmer's Market today, but according to Ummi, I didn't wake when Abi woke me, so he and Ummi left without me. I later woke up, sweating. So I got ready thinkin' it was still early and whatever. Ummi came in my room with her outside clothes on. "Eh what are you doing N?" she asked.
"Getting ready." I said tiredly.
"But we already left!"
I looked at her with shock in my face. "But..."
"Abi woke you up, but you didn't wake up, so we left without you."
I changed into my Canada Roots shirt and ate a peach. Mmm.
S told me, "Jidda wants to do a video chat with us-"
My face lighted up.
"-but there might be everybody, not just her, so we might have to wear tudung and all," she finished.
I put on an 'eh' face. S giggled girlishly.
We did a video chat soon as H woke. We did it on the iPad, Abi's iPad in it's glorious scarlet cover. Turned out it was just Jidda and Abi's cousin Reen. Phee-hewies.
Jidda commented on H's tallness, my supposedly nice teeth, and S's - well she said nothing about her because S didn't want to show herself. She was 'ugly' she said. Girl, jus' remember, H is uglier. ;)
As for Z, he would not talk. -_- Jidda was like, "Where is S, the Jamilah?"
H put her/the iPad in the fridge and we showed her the weeds growing in profusion in our yard. "Your garden is beautiful," said Jidda. That got us laughing.
"Where is F? I want to see your father's face," said Jidda.
"He's at a meeting," I said.
Then it was over. The time came for us to get ready for goin'.
So I brought my rollerblades and found mah buddeh Mar and NC was nawt thair yet. Ayund, we came a little (or maybe a lottle) late, so the only remainin' food was some wimpy burgah pattehs and some chicken. I wasn't very hungry because Ummi made us eat lunch before we left in case there wasn't any food there. So I rollerbladed and I also raced with R on her twistin' skateboard (fahgotted, I did what it was actually called). I won, unfairly. R's thingy was kinder slow.
Why all the southern talk? Ask yourself. Now then, NC arrived, and me and Mar were eatin' under a tree. I saw JC talking to someone, and NC beside her.
"I'm gonna get her attention," I told Mar.
I stood up and waved my arm wildly. NC noticed, and her face lighted up and she came runnin' to me.
As usual, she bearhugged me and bit my head. Owie. Mar felt bad for NC because she arrived late and everybody finished the food. Well, that is all that happened. Now then...
SUNDAY
JC was taking us to the soup kitchen. Me and S readied ourselves, ate, and waited in the front yard. JC arrived a little late because there was a thorn in her tire.We got there and we did the desserts. Then we cut tomatoes. Then it was break time and we ate donuts and mm i can smell them whilst writing this. the soupp kitchen people gave out bags of croissants, donuts, bread, and nasty bagels to every one. "Go open the car, NC," said JC.
while serving i developed a horrible stomachache. so yaeah. it lasted until monday the day i was planning to fast but my tummache was so bad i culdn't fast so yeaeh. oh, and Auntie Sal and K came for dinner.
The end.
